The global water crisis kills more people than AID's, malaria, and world violence combined. Children and women can't go to school, having to walk 6-8 hours a day to fetch dirty water, diseases rapidly spread to villages and poverty remains stagnant and rampant in society. All because of not having access to clean water. Something so simple, that you can receive from the tap in your kitchen sink, is one precious resource that 636 million people on this Earth, dream about having.
Just from having access to clean water, disease rates virtually drop to 88% overnight. Child mortality rates drop up to 90% overnight.
It all started with a group of college students, who had no idea about the global water crisis, to start fundraising, and campaigns, for students all across America. The Thirst Project is the first largest world youth activism organization, in the effort to get high school and college students to stop the global water crisis.
The Environmental Club and Key Club, are working together to help defeat the global water crisis. With each dollar, getting closer to saving one life at a time. Here are current, past, and possible future fundraisers for the Thirst Project.
Past Fundraiser:
Water Droplet Fundraiser:
Each purchase of a water droplet costs 2$. That water droplet that you purchased, will be hung up in the hallway so that people know that you donated money for clean water. It was a competition between the seniors, juniors, and sophomores. Whichever class purchased the most water droplets, got 25% of the profit from water droplets that they as a class purchased. The juniors won the competition.
